Today I have some awesomeness for you!
I have a Q&A && a Review of Run the Risk (:
&& a Giveaway, of course!

So.. enough waiting.. Let’s get to it!

Lori Foster Q&A:

1. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
Stella Cameron. You’ll never meet a nicer, more grounded, generous and talented author. Back before I’d ever gotten published, I was a huge fan. (I’m STILL a huge fan.) I was green and nervous and unpublished when I met Stella in person and wow, she was so incredibly kind to me. That first meeting is something I will never, ever forget, because she had such an amazing impact on me. I love her for what she gave to me: encouragement, confidence, and her wisdom. I seriously doubt I’d be where I am today if it weren’t for Stella. Still, when I need advice, I go to Stella. She’s never steered me wrong. To this day, whenever I do a favor for a new writer, I always think of the example she set and how fortunate I feel to be able to pay it forward. She will always remain a most cherished friend.

2. Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
Yes! Macy Beckett has SULTRY WITH A TWIST coming out in October, and it’s amazing. I got to do an early read, and loved it. Now I’m waiting for the 2nd book! :) If you like small town charm with Alpha heroes and fun heroines, amusing dialogue and steamy romance, trust me, you’ll love this one!

3. What can we expect from this new series?
Lots of action. Lots of steam. :) Related books, but each one will stand alone. A little suspense, a few laughs. I hope readers can expect unique characters and new plots but with the same elements usually found in books, the parts that readers enjoy.

4.Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
My good friend Duffy Brown. She and I started writing around the same time, and I can’t even tell you the number of phone calls we’ve had to commiserate, sound off on a plot glitch, laugh or curse. Duffy has let me vent many times, encouraged me when I needed it, and celebrated all the industry stuff that family sometimes doesn’t “get.” She’s a fabulous author, and a very dear friend.

When Detective Logan Riske goes undercover to find Pepper Yates, a potential link to his best friend’s unsolved murder, he vows to gain her cooperation by any means necessary. But the elusive beauty is more suspicious—and in far more danger—than he expected. And the last thing Logan needs is to start caring for her….

Pepper has spent years dodging the corrupt club owner who will stop at nothing to keep her silenced. She can trust no one, not even the handsome new “construction worker” who’s moved in next door. The heat between them is undeniable. But will surrendering to passion bring her the safety she so desires—or will her feelings for Logan draw them both into a killer’s crosshairs?

My Thoughts:

Lori Foster has done it again! Of course, it IS Lori we are talking about, so what did you expect? After all, this review is kind of being written by me – in which I admit – I am a HUGE Lori Foster Fan! After my review of Trace of Fever, I was asked my Lori’s pub to be a part of this tour. Like I would turn THAT down! Run the Risk is the first book in her new series entitled, Love Undercover. Now, let me tell you all about this FAB-U-LOUS piece of work!

Logan captured my heart from the very beginning. Here you have your Alpha Male – in every single sense of the word. What I loved most about him was that beneath all the alpha-ness, he isn’t afraid to share his feelings & lay everything on the line. He is a strong believer (due in most part, to his job as a detective) in justice & upholding the law. Having been working his current case for 2 years, he is now closer than ever to solving it… yet some things just aren’t adding up.

He hated it, the way she made him feel so fu*king…lost. He was a man who liked to act, not wallow in indecision and confusion. He knew right from wrong, and he enforced it. He went after what he wanted, whether it was a woman or a criminal, physical or emotional. With Pepper, he didn’t have a clue what to do.

Insert Pepper Yates here. Pepper is for all intents and purposes undercover as well, only she isn’t a cop. She is actually hiding from some pretty horrid people who would stop at nothing to silence her – or better yet, eraser her very existence. The one thing Pepper doesn’t realize is that she has the one thing Logan needs to solve this case – her brother, Rowdy.. Another obstacle standing in their way. Logan, posing as her neighbor – isn’t exactly who Pepper thinks he is. (Obviously!)
The Chemistry between Logan & Pepper is.. for lack of a better word – sizzling. Even while she is dressed in old lady clothes to try and disguise herself, Logan seems to still be attracted to her.. & let me tell you – their interactions are freaking scorching!

“Last night, Pepper proved she’s not exactly a delicate flower.” She’d proved.. something. Logan didn’t know what.
“Stow it.”
“In fact, Dash was afraid you’d knock a hole in the wall, the way you two were rocking that bed.”
His temples pounded. ”Shut up.”

Even though Logan is Hot.Sex.Waling – the other men in this book played it up as well. Rowdy was def one to hold his own && lets not downplay Dash & Reese either! Dash being Logan’s Brother & Reese being another detective working with Logan. While running from the law && trying to keep him & his sister out of harms way; Rowdy never loses his sense of humor or ability to pick up woman. Dude is a PRO.

“Make up your mind and fast Detective. Shit’s about to get ugly. Whose side are you on here?” – Rowdy

The plot of this book. was well written. It may have had a slow moment or two in the beginning, but once it picked up, it really picked up! It was page after page of epic & I didn’t want to put it down! Every plot twist, every cliff hanger & every curse I uttered was well worth it when the end of the book came. Captivating is one very good way to describe Run the Risk. While I can’t WAIT to read about Reese & Rowdy’s stories – I am DYING to read about Dash. -Sigh- He just does it for me man.
