Kate

I pictured her as Amy Adams. She’s beautiful, has a delightful personality on screen, and I think she could pull off Kate’s lack of confidence without making her seem weak. She really is my dream pick for the role!

Gavin

I wrote Ties That Bind shortly after watching Twilight, so I have to admit that Rob Pattinson was fresh in my mind as I typed. It was his boyish, somewhat shy smile that I tried to capture in the book. Although I picture Gavin not as brooding as Edward Cullen or some of the other roles I’ve seen Rob play. I saw Gavin as charming and flirty with a boyish smile that makes him endearing but enough smolder in his gaze to make a girl melt just a little. I’ve heard some really good reader suggestions for this character– some I’m kicking myself right now for not jotting down.

Liz & Jessica

The characters of Liz and Jessica were based on two dear friends of mine – it was their faces and mannerisms I saw as I wrote. Since they weren’t too keen on having their pictures posted, the two actresses who I think best capture both their beauty and sparkle would be Lea Michele for Liz and Julia Stiles for Jessica.

Jack

As for Jack, I could see someone like Kevin Costner playing that role.

I think it’s fun to ponder which actors could play my characters if they ever made it to the big screen. I love hearing my readers’ thoughts on the subject, too. I really love it when their suggestions are dead-on because it makes me feel like I’ve done an okay job conveying the character in my mind.
